The Chronicles of Bosnia 2025/2026

Every Sunday evening our mission holds a Sunday devotional on Zoom. Our mission president, President Cordray, works for the Church in the media department. He seems to know everyone and has incredible connections, which has blessed us with devotionals from so many amazing people—including John Hilton III, a BYU professor and author of Considering the Cross ; Jennie Oaks Baker, President Oaks’s daughter and a gifted violinist; Eva Timothy, a very talented artist, Blair Treu, writer and director of ,Meet the Mormons' and so many others, too many to mention. One of those special privileges was hearing from Hank Smith. After each devotional we have a Q&A session, and it was especially fun to hear insights directly from one of my favorite podcasters. Charles was interviewed once again by Bosnian news about this incredible humanitarian project. The day included a cornerstone-setting ceremony. It was amazing day.            If you’re wondering why Charles is always the one being interviewed and not me… it helps that he speaks fluent Bosnian!                                         The Sarajevo humanitarian couple we replaced last February, Elder and Sister Stafford, began this remarkable project with the Duje Center, which I’ve shared about in past blogs. We were blessed to see it approved and to attend this special event marking the start of new dormitories for elderly and disabled residents. These new buildings will replace overcrowded housing and provide safe, dignified care through a partnership between the Church and local and national government.
